Rebbetzin Rischel Kotler, the wife of the late Rosh Yeshivah and Torah giant Maran Harav Schneur Kotler z”l and yblc”h the mother of the current Rosh Yeshivah Marav Harav Aryeh Malkiel shlit”a quietly stood at the helm of the Lakewood Yeshivah for over half a century, and was personally involved in all aspects of its growth, physical and spiritual.
A woman who saw the destruction of the European Torah centers, and the rebuilding of Torah in America, she provided clear direction and Daas Torah to the greatest of leaders and to the simplest of common folk.Thousands of women claim her as their friend and mentor, from oldest to youngest, family and neighbors.
She was a woman who demonstrated the beauty and joy of a true Torah lifestyle to all whom came in contact with her. A demonstration of the ability of humankind to soar to the heights of greatness in achievement of one’s purpose on earth, while touching the hearts of so many alomg the way.
She will eternally be remembered as one of the Great Women of Israel, Nshei Chayil, whom were integral to the tradition of Torah through the ages. Yehi Zichrah Baruch!
